How To Protect Yourself While Using The Laser?

- Sep 01, 2018 -

The laser is a high-brightness, high-power, high-energy beam. Intense laser radiation can cause skin burns to the human body. If it is directly injected into the eyes, or when reflected from a bright (mirror-like) surface, it will also cause injury. will cause permanent damage to the eyes until blindness. Therefore, any part of the body should not be placed on the laser light path. Special attention should be paid to eye and skin protection to avoid injury.

Different types of lasers cause different damage to the human body. In laser processing, CO2 and YAG lasers are most often used. The YAG laser may damage the retina of the eye. Because the wavelength of the YAG laser is extremely high in the transmission of the eye, the damage is also greater. The hazard of CO2 lasers is mainly burned to the cornea of the eye. Both types of laser radiation can cause cataracts and burns to the skin. Therefore, when adjusting the laser, according to the type of laser, use appropriate protective measures.

At the same time, we must also pay attention to fire protection. In laser processing, auxiliary gas is often used. Sparks are scattered during processing, which may cause fa ire hazard. Therefore, flammable and explosive materials must not be placed in the work area, and corresponding preventive facilities must be provided.
